What to Do

• Place the saucepan over medium high heat

• Add the half-and-half and the cocoa

• Whisk together until completely smooth

• Heat until bubbles form around the edges

• Whisk in the coffee, caramel syrup, and half of the pure vanilla extract

• In a mixing bowl whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and other half of the pure vanilla extract until stiff

• Pour the coffee mixture into a mug

• Top with whipped cream

• Drizzle with butterscotch ice cream topping

 

Blended Hazelnut Mocha

 

What You’ll Need

• 1 cup milk

• 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread

• 4 teaspoons instant espresso powder

• 6 ice cubes

• 2 cups vanilla bean ice cream

• High quality chocolate bar

• Blender

• Vegetable peeler

• Chilled glasses

 

What to Do

• Put the espresso powder, chocolate hazelnut spread, and milk in the blender, cover, and process

• Add the ice cubes, cover, and process until thoroughly blended

• Add the ice cream, cover, and process until smooth

• Pour into the chilled glasses

• Use the vegetable peeler to create curls out of the chocolate bar for the top

 

 

Iced Mocha Latte

 

What You’ll Need

• 2 cups cold water

• 1/2 cup boiling water

• 1/2 cup instant coffee granules

• 4 cups chocolate milk

• 1 can sweetened condensed milk

• 1/2 cup heavy cream

• 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

• 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

• Ice cubes

• Large bowl

• Whisk

• Glasses

• Electric beater

 

What to Do

• Pour the boiling water and instant coffee granules into the mixing bowl and whisk until the coffee dissolves

• Add the chocolate milk, cold water, and sweetened condensed milk

• Pour the heavy cream into the mixing bowl

• Add the pure vanilla extract and powdered sugar

• Whip the cream until stiff

• Serve the coffee over ice with whipped cream

As Ashbury Manor’s Administrator, Cindy understands the complexities associated with dementia and cognitive impairment and she has fallen in love with seniors with dementia or cognitive impairment and their families.
